About Jamie

Jamie Dierick is a Staff Barrister in Catherine's team. Jamie holds a law degree and an arts degree from Victoria University of Wellington and joined Catherine Stewart's practice in 2026 to pursue his passion for practising employment law.

Jamie has experience across employment, criminal, and civil litigation. He has regularly appeared in the District Court and High Court as both lead and junior counsel and has assisted on matters before the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Jamie can assist both employers and employees across a wide range of employment matters, including personal grievances, disciplinary and performance processes, workplace investigations, restructurings and redundancies, negotiated exits, mediations, and proceedings before the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court. He can also assist with employment agreements, workplace policies, and providing practical advice on employment disputes and workplace issues as they arise.
